Celebrations
Independence Day, August 15. Parents were invited to join us as
we raised the flag over the school building. All enjoyed the student
performances and speeches by the teachers.
Onam, September 4. For Onam, our children made a beautiful mandala
of flower petals to welcome King Mahabhaly to our school. Moms
helped prepare a special meal to which we invited poor children
and Moms from our community. All children received new outfits
and everyone feasted. Over 100 people were in attendance.
Id-ul-fiter, October 14. To celebrate the end of Ramzan, we enjoyed
a special meal of shellfish and biryani thanks to some of our
Muslim mothers.
Christmas Day, December 14. For Jesus Birthday celebration, our
children and parents plus some poor families who we invited shared
the cutting of a Christmas cake and student and teacher performances.
We also served a very special meal to over 100 individuals.
Republic Day, January 26. Children, parents, and other community
members joined to raise the flag and the children performed for
the parents and others in attendance. Special sweets were served
to all.
